WHAT PLUGIN WORKS BEST FOR YOU? Q3PX - Q3PX Official Website I really like this plugin, it has a few features unique to the others, first of all customization. This plugin's display can be highly customized allowing it to fit into any website design. It is a bit more up to date as far as the other plugins are concerned, and it at least 'appears' to be still being maintained/updated, although not to frequently. Game support is comparable to its only real competitor, q3plug, which appears to not be receiving any additional development time to support new games. It will display map pictures for the selected game, and if the pics arent available to the client, it can retrieve from from a url specified by the webmaster. One drawback, is that since it is a 'Netscape' style plugin, a registry patch must be run to make it work, which may often require the plugin to be reinstalled after Microsoft updates, etc. Q3Plug by fKK|MB - Q3Plug Official Website Q3Plug has been a long time favorite, supporting more games than Xplug, and is easily implemented. It does allow some colors to be customized but other than color and size, has no further display customization. Although the forums for this plugin support show some activity, wether it is actively being worked on for improvement and future game support is undetermineable. Like Q3PX, since it is a 'Netscape' style plugin, a registry patch must be run to make it work, however the registry patch is provided separately which makes it easier to reapply as Microsoft updates occur, unfortunately this is a little more difficult for some end users. XPlug by Chris Weiss- XPlug Official Website This plugin was an old time favorite. It's an activeX plugin, which doesnt require any special registry patchs. It does have a nifty display mode allowing the user to change the way it displays its information, however in reality has no real display customization, no color control, etc. This plugin is becoming dated, and per the author, this project is discontinued, not likely to be updated, despite the source being openingly available to the public.
Directly supported games/gametypes are reflected in GREEN. Lowercase gametypes indicate indirect game support, working via a different but 'compatible' 'gametype' (indicated next to it in parenthesis). Example: Americas Army aa (UT) you can use "aa" (or "AA") on the commandline, but it will be translated, and displayed as a UT server, hence the (UT).
